Table top 3D imager

This table top imager can have up to 12 cameras and can create complete 3D view of small objects weighing less than 10 lbs and can fit into 6" cylindrical volume for viewing over the web. This design was done in 2002.

Big Object 3D Imager

This system collects views from 20 cameras and creates 3D image of large objects weighing no more than 200 lbs. The applications include remote manufacturing collaboration, reverse engineering, parts documentation, and creating training material. The above system was built n 2001.

Mobile Imager

The mobile imager can create 3D images of entire automobiles and other big objects (2000).

Multi-view Human Imaging

In many surveillance and security applications, it is necessary to collect many simultaneous views of human passing through a check post, (2003)

24 -Speaker Array System

This experimental speaker array system was designed to study different wave field synthesis algorithms. It contained discrete speaker module placed in an array. The drive signals were pre-computed and delivered by PC through MOTU 24I/O PCI interface.

24 - Speaker Small Array

A compact version is built to avoid spatial aliasing effects. The driver electronics is separately housed.

Sub-Compact 16-Speaker Array with Acoustic improvements

The resonance cavity of the array is carefully arranged to maximize the system bandwidth. This array was designed in 2006 to test the different spectral weighting assumptions.

Inside the Array

The array contained the drive electronics inside the resonance chamber.

Morphing in Digital camera - Video Demo

Digital Cameras take separate stills. Why not combine them to create a morphing video? See the prototype in action created in 1998 by clicking here.

How does a camera do auto focus? - Video Demo

See the video demonstration of auto focus in action by estimating the edge parameters in the sensor image and finding the maximum value. See the video by clicking here.

Mapping of Video on Objects - Video Demo

By combining the frame buffer with a small graphics engine, a digital camera becomes a creative tool.

See demo #1 here.  The second demo here.

Edge Magic - Video Demo

Edges in an image carry the major part of visual information. Computing edges is non-trivial. See two ways of detecting edges in this video: All edges here, and dominant edges here.
